One journal, three pillars, and the seams between them
Series author your real entries into an ongoing novel, Fields track what actually moves you, and Community lends your story perspectives that aren't your own. What you write is the source, and every pillar reads from it and writes back into it.
Your journal
Plain entries, in your own words. Everything below reads from here - there is nothing else to set up.
Your entries are the source text. Gnothi authors Chapters out of them, and each Chapter is saved back into your journal as an entry of its own.
What you track becomes context the author reads - for a Series drawing on your whole journal, with no tag scoping. Narrow a Series to a few tags and it writes from those entries alone.
Entries someone shares with you fold into your arc, at the depth their privacy tier allows and stamped with who wrote them. A second perspective, not just your own.
Every Series is already a podcast - narration is automatic and free. Chapters become episodes on a real RSS feed, on every account, that you or your listeners can subscribe to in any podcast app.
Three pillars, one journal
Each one stands on its own, and each one makes the others better. Start with whichever you came for.
Series
A Series is an ongoing book written out of your real entries. Pick a genre - Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Literary - or an adaptive nonfiction arc that reads how you write and responds in kind. Stay active and Gnothi authors Chapters: generated installments, saved back as entries, that grow richer over time. Arc memory carries context between sessions: the themes your life keeps circling accumulate into a Ledger the arc keeps drawing on, joined on a fiction Series by its characters, events and places. Every Chapter narrates itself into an episode on a real podcast feed. And you hold the pen the whole way - steer the arc, or let it run.
Fields
Fields are whatever you decide is worth tracking: mood, sleep, pages written, sets lifted, a nested outline of a project with due dates and file uploads. Scoring is deliberately light - the Habitica author's own correction to Habitica, because a streak you are afraid to break has stopped being information. What Fields really buy you is the causal layer: a graph that estimates which of your fields actually move the others over time, and a plain-language read of what it found. Then, for a Series drawing on your whole journal, what you track becomes context the author reads.
Community
Share a slice of your journal with people you choose - selected by tag, never wholesale - and read what they share back. Three privacy tiers set how much of an entry a reader, and a reader's AI, ever sees. Groups gather several people around one thread, with anonymity as a first-class role rather than a buried setting. Entries shared with you fold into your own Series, so your arc carries a perspective that is not only yours. Run a DnD table on it, or share with a partner and let each arc hold both of you.
Self-Authorship: write the story of your life
An AI journal you write in daily, that writes back. Write. Track Fields. Watch your Series unfold, Chapter by Chapter.
"You'll only find it the way you find the floor of any valley. One step. Then another. Toward something warm you didn't put there to be chosen by - only to sit near."
Self-Authorship is the practice of stepping back from the flow of your days and treating your own life as a narrative you can examine, revise, and shape. Gnothi builds that into a daily writing practice - and you can use it as a creative-writing aid, a steerable novel, even a DnD campaign tool. You take the reins.
Stay active and Gnothi authors Chapters - generated installments saved back as entries - that grow richer over time. Arc memory lets each Series accumulate context across sessions: the themes your life keeps returning to build into a Ledger the arc draws on, joined on a fiction Series by its characters, events and places. Choose fiction (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Literary, and more) or an adaptive nonfiction arc that reads how you write and responds in kind.
When someone shares their entries with you, they weave into your Series - lending your arc a second perspective, not just your own. And every Chapter is narrated for you as it lands, so the book of your life is also something you can listen to on the way to work.
Who it's for
Four ways people actually use it. Pick the one that sounds like you - the others are still there when you want them.
The journaler
Write the way you already write, and get something back for it: a Chapter that read your week and had a point of view about it. Uses Series, and Fields once you want to know what your weeks have in common.
The creative writer
A steerable novel with a source you never run out of. Pick the genre, seed the arc, and edit the Ledger when the story needs a different fact. Uses Series.
The habit tracker
Track anything, with scoring light enough that a broken streak stays informative. Then read the causal graph for which of your fields actually moves the others. Uses Fields, and Series to see it written up.
The DnD table
Run the campaign as a Group: everyone writes their session entries, the arc weaves them into one telling, and anonymity is a role you can hand out. Uses Community and Series.
